Andrew Wall

Founder & President

Andrew F. Wall, PhD is the founder and President of Fenix Research and Evaluation, an organization dedicated to conducting research and evaluation of education.  Fenix Consulting LLC began formally in 2021 as an outgrowth of Dr. Wall’s academic work as a professor and Dean, and has helped to leverage nearly 40 million dollars in federal, state and foundation grants with project partners.

Dr. Wall was Dean and Professor (with tenure) at the University of Redlands in July 2014 to June 2021.  During that time he led a faculty transformation, hiring 18 faculty members, increasing student enrollment and tripling academic productivity among faculty.  During his time as Dean Dr. Wall served as Commissioner on the California Teacher Commision (CTC), was a Dean for Impact Fellow, and was recognized as alumni of the year from the College of Education at Ball State University.

Prior to his time at the University of Redlands, Dr. Wall was Associate Professor and Department Chair of Educational Leadership at the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development.  While at Rochester, Wall also served as the Higher Education Program Director and was Co-Director of the Warner Center for Professional Development and Education Reform.

Alongside his leadership achievements, Wall’s teaching has won him numerous accolades, including Rochester’s 2010 G. Graydon ’58 and Jane W. Curtis Award for Excellence in Teaching by a Non-tenured Member of the Faculty and being named a 2008 Emerging Scholar by the American College Personnel Association (ACPA).  His research and scholarship interests span the educational spectrum and have included examining K-12 school finance, teacher preparation, student health and learning, along with assessment and evaluation in education.  His research has received the support of private foundations, the US Department of Education, the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health, totaling nearly $48 million in funding.

The author of over 50 numerous book chapters and journal articles, Wall is also the co-author of two books. He is a member of the American Education Research Association, the Association for the Study of Higher Education and the American Evaluation Association.

Wall received his Ph.D. in Education, Organization and Leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a B.A. in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Iowa and an M.A. in Academic and Student Affairs from Ball State University. A Midwest native, Wall now calls Newport, MN home, where he lives with his wife.

Madeline Wall

Research and Evaluation coordinator

Madeline Wall (she/her) is a writer, editor, theatre artist, and aspiring leader in the arts & nonprofit sector. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where she received the 2019 Michael Swifta Award for Leadership and 2019 Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) grant for Making the Makers: Conceptualizations & Representations of the Pregnant Body in Shakespeare’s World.

Madeline has held teaching positions at Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, NY and in the Theatre Arts and History departments at the University of Minnesota. She has been a freelance editor for academic journal articles and dissertations since 2017, and she currently serves as a communications coordinator for Supporting Inclusive Practices (SIP), a statewide program in CA that provides technical assistance to educational communities in their pursuit of inclusive and equitable systems

Madeline is also a freelance stage actor, director, and playwright, as well as Company Director of (@birthplayproject , a Minneapolis-based theatre company dedicated to reproductive stories and justice. Her article in Minnesota Women's Press about the Project, Placing Birth in Public Memory, was published in the Minnesota Women’s Press.

Madeline’s future aspirations include academic research and both leading and supporting positions in the arts and reproductive justice work. She lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Henry Wall

Analyst and Project Manager

Henry Wall is an adventurous, fast-thinking and adaptive worker who joined Fenix full time in February after working part time for about a year. He holds a B.S from the University of Utah with a major in International Studies with dual minors in Environmental Sustainability and Business. While in school, Henry worked in different capacities for the University, as ambassadors for the University of Utah admissions and Lassonde entrepreneurship institute.

After graduating, Henry worked for the United States Ski and Snowboard Orginization, continuing with an internship for the Principal Giving department on their Foundation team. However, at the start of 2023 he pivoted towards working in event coordination for the U.S. Freeski and Snowboarding teams. While traveling with the team, Henry worked on 4 different professional events at multiple different mountain towns across the United States. After the ski season ended, Henry took a role with SkyWest airlines, working on the ground operations for regional flights out of Salt Lake City. Using the benefits included within the role, he ended 2023 by flying on over 85 different flights all across the world for a combination of work and adventurous travel.

In the midst of travel, Henry joined Fenix Research and Evaluation part time to assist with data projects and general work. However, in February of 2024 he moved to full time, working remotely from all across the world. Now, he lives in Dallas Texas, where he does data analytics and some project management for the team.

Outside of work, Henry enjoys skiing and a lot of time in the mountains. He has a new found passion for mens fashion and a takes the opportunity to travel when possible.
